Professional Athlete Evaluation and Approval Process

The REAL World Tour holds its professional athletes to the highest standards in the industry.

To ensure our professional ranks maintain the vision of the “elite of the elite” across the community, our advanced athletes are required to submit a “Request for Professional Status” to the REAL World Tour Board for approval. The Approval Board will use the following standards for evaluation and eventual approval or denial of each submission. The evaluation process for our submissions includes a background check and five (5) areas of scoring or evaluation; Essay (written or video), Visual, Marketability, Community Presence and Establishment.

For an athlete to receive the approval of the board, the athlete’s submission must receive a score of 32 or lower (score range is 13 to 65). Should the athlete not receive approval, they will be guided in how to address and correct areas in their submission needing attention and given a clearly defined timeline for their next submission. Should the athlete be approved for the professional class, they will be consulted on any weak area of their submission and asked to sign the REAL Professional Athlete Agreement prior to receiving their pro card.

The following is a description of the evaluation

process for every submission.

Evaluation Process for Professional Submissions – note – each subcategory carries a score of 1 to 5 with 1 being the best and 5 being the worst.

1. Each athlete will undergo a
background check for items in their past that may reflect poorly on the REAL organization. This will include any area of concern to the approval board and soley at the discretion of the approval board. Should anything be found in respect to the athlete’s past, they will be contacted and given the opportunity to defend the item(s) and or action(s) and each matter will be viewed and handled on a case by case basis.

2.
Essay (written or video) – (1 subcategory)
a. Each submission must be accompanied by an essay stating why they feel they are a good candidate for the professional ranks of REAL, what makes them a quality REAL ambassador, what they feel they can offer the sport and any history or journey that gives substance to them and their submission.
b. This ‘essay’ can be in either a written or video format. The video format may give the opportunity for a lightly higher score as it allows the board to see this applicant in motion and speaking, possibly showing a side of that particular athlete not seen through writing.
c. Should this essay be written or through video, the applicant is required to list any and all websites, blogs, forums and similar they are a part of. As well as any media they have been a part of (TV, radio, webcasts and similar).

3.
Visual – (9 subcategories) This category carries the most weight in the scoring. This is what the public sees and will ultimately be what REAL is judged on by the community. Each applicant will be viewed as ready or not, and not by their potential. Our “Advanced” division is where our athletes with great potential are showcased. The “Professional” division is a place where the athlete is 100% ready for the pro stage. Areas of visual scoring and evaluation are:
a. Muscularity, Symmetry, Conditioning and Proportions.
b. Stage Presence, Posing Accuracy, Confidence, Routines are ‘interesting’, ‘entertaining’ and satisfies all components

4.
Marketability – (3 subcategories)
a. Appearance and attractiveness – This industry is driven by beauty and attractiveness as well as good stories. The applicant must have strengths in one or more of these areas.
b. Charismatic – How well the applicant communicates, ‘sells’ REAL and The REAL Spot. Their ability to carry a ‘personable’ conversation while remaining professional and appropriate
c. Overall projection to the public – This is how we and the public perceive the ‘overall package’ of the applicant. There is no defined verbiage for this as there is a wide range of ‘needs’ and ‘desires’ of the market.

5.
Community Presence – (3 subcategories)
a. Applicant has a quality and positive presence on The REAL Spot (primarily) as well as other social networks (Facebook, MySpace, BodySpace and similar)
b. Has a strong and/or growing network and support base on these social sites
c. Projects the REAL and natural way of life and promotes The REAL Spot and REAL World Tour in a positive and professional manner.

6.
Establishment, Competitive and Media – (3 subcategories) – This is the least important area of evaluation. Once a Pro, this is where the athlete will either establish themselves in the industry or enhance and grow on what they have already begun. This area is more about potential than current status.
a. Positive Contest History – To ensure the athlete has quality and consistent ‘stage time’ as well as a ‘clean’ history with previous contests in other organizations
b. Has potential for quality exposure to and through all the media outlets they will be introduced to as a professional.
c. Has an established presence in one or more media outlets.

Notes on the Professional Submission and Status of our athletes:
1. Our mission with our Professional Division is to create a division that is clearly recognized on stage, in images, the media, as well as in our community and the main stream community. There should be NO question that a pro is a pro when they step on stage or in the lights of a media opportunity.
2. No athlete will be able to be an “active” professional in more than one division. Our Professional Division will meet the criteria for that specific division which makes it impossible to meet the criteria for an alternate division. An exception to this is the REAL Challenge Division to other Divisions. Any other exception must be agreed to with a unanimous vote from the board.
3. Athletes will receive a “no” answer at times. It is our job as the Approval Board to be the initial support system for those athletes.
4. All submissions should receive scoring within 72 hours of receipt. Each evaluation should have a series of notes for that athlete no matter the outcome of the score. Our goal is to develop role models and athletes who inspire others. This cannot be done if they do not have quality feedback from us.

Pro Athletes From Other Organizations:
Professional athletes from other organizations are able to submit with us using the same format of evaluation as with REAL athletes. Athletes MUST have a REAL Spot profile, utilize it, develop their presence on the site and begin to show us how they embody the REAL ideals and are an inspiration to the community.

1. They MUST be a member of The REAL Spot to be considered
2. They MUST be a member of REAL World Tour to be considered
3. They MUST fulfill at least one appearance at a REAL event or camp to show a board member how they interact with out athletes and how they are received by them.

Professional Status Probation:
1. Any athlete’s professional status may be revoked under the following conditions and rules:
2. The athlete must first be placed on probation for a period of 6 months in which time the board will review and investigate the negative actions, complaints, or violations to their agreement. Athlete’s ability to continue to compete during the probationary process is at the discretion of the board members.
3. The athlete can be placed on probation for any act that any board member witnesses, hears from a credible source, views via electronic means, or reads in regards to the athlete and anything similar. The board member must take the above potential violation(s) to the Directors of REAL World Tour and/or the Founders for consideration for probation for said athlete.
4. If during the investigation, the board determines with at least a 6 of 9 vote, the athlete is in fact in violation of the Professional Agreement or has harmed or put in harms way the REAL World Tour or The REAL Spot, the athletes Professional Status will be revoked for a minimum of 6 months at the discretion of the board.
